Mechanical Design Engineer Full Time
You will be required to be responsible for all mechanical design drawings and production documentation for a range of underwater acoustic sensors. It involves working on-site with a small design team to ensure both business targets and project timescales can be achieved. This is a very important role within the company reporting to the Technical Director.
The role involves creating mechanical drawings for material parts, assembly jigs, test jigs; developing prototype and concept designs; creating full production assembly drawing packs for the manufacturing production team, and creating individual parts drawings for outsourcing or in-house manufacture.
Required skills:
- Degree or HNC/HND in Mechanical Engineering
- Advanced use of Solidworks 3D or similar 3D CAD software for product design and assembly documentation
- Comprehension of technical drawings and understanding part tolerances
- Creating technical drawings for manufacturing of parts
- Ability to manage a project through and meet timescales
- Ability to use Microsoft Word and Excel
Experience: Required in mechanical assemblies and electrical layouts; design of products which can be subjected to high pressure; use of water tight seals such as O-Rings; experience of similar roles in industry.
The right candidate will have the ability to work with a team of designers and on your own initiative. The ability to think outside the box is fundamental to success for this role as the obvious answer is not always apparent.
Owing to the nature of this role you must be able to obtain UK security clearance, and have lived in the UK for a minimum of 3 of the last 5 years.

We are currently recruiting for a full-time Manual Machinist to join our team in our in-house Machine Shop in East Yorkshire.
Due to the specialist nature of our products we manufacture our own products and parts, making one-offs, prototypes and small to medium production batches. An enthusiastic approach and excellent attention to detail is essential as part of this role.
Applicants must have a minimum of 3 years’ experience with Manual Lathes and Milling Machines, CNC (HURCO) experience favourable.
Due to our location applicants must hold a valid driving license.
