IT Technician Full Time

We’re a dynamic and growing company of 45 talented individuals who value collaboration, innovation, and excellence. As we continue to scale, we’re looking for a hands-on, adaptable IT Technician to own and manage all aspects of our IT infrastructure, support, and strategy. You'll be the go-to expert, playing a vital role in keeping our team connected, productive, and secure.

As our all-round IT Technician, you will be responsible for maintaining, developing, and troubleshooting the company's IT systems and infrastructure. You will ensure that users are supported day-to-day while proactively improving processes, systems, and security to help the business grow smoothly. This role would suit someone who enjoys variety, autonomy, and having a real impact on a business.

Key responsibilities:

  • User Support: Provide first- and second-line support for hardware, software, and networking issues.
  • Infrastructure Management: Maintain servers, networks (LAN/Wi-Fi/VPN), firewalls, and cloud environments.
  • System Administration: Manage Microsoft 365, Azure, device management tools (MDM), and other SaaS platforms.
  • Cybersecurity: Implement and manage security measures including backups, antivirus, patch management, and access controls.
  • Procurement & Asset Management: Source and set up new hardware/software, maintain an up-to-date inventory.
  • Onboarding & Offboarding: Set up accounts and devices for new starters, manage exits securely.
  • Projects: Lead small-scale IT projects (e.g., system upgrades, migrations, office moves).
  • Documentation: Maintain clear documentation of systems, processes, and troubleshooting guides.
  • Innovation: Identify opportunities for IT improvements to enhance business operations.
Skills and Experience: :
  • Proven experience in an IT generalist, systems administrator, or similar role.
  • Solid knowledge of:
    • Windows and Linux environments.
    • Microsoft 365 and Azure administration.
    • Networking fundamentals (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VPNs, firewalls).
    • Cloud services and SaaS applications.
    • Virtualisation environment.
  • Good understanding of cybersecurity best practices.
  • Familiarity with backup solutions, endpoint management, and monitoring tools.
  • Ability to troubleshoot hardware, software, and network issues independently.
  • Excellent problem-solving and communication skills.
  • Ability to manage and prioritise multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
  • Self-starter with strong initiative and attention to detail.
  • Due to the location of the business, a full UK driving license is required.
Bonus skills, desirable but not essential:
  • Experience of Cyber Essentials Accreditation.
  • Experience with scripting (PowerShell, Bash) or automation tools.
  • Exposure to ITIL principles or formal support ticketing systems.
  • Experience with VoIP systems, conference room tech, or CRM platforms.
  • Basic knowledge of GDPR and IT compliance standards.

Salary £30,000 to £40,000 p/a dependent on experience.
The successful applicant will be required to pass security clearance.
Hours: 08.00 to 17.15 Monday to Thursday, 08.00 to 13.00 Friday.
Overtime may be required.
25 days holiday (plus bank holidays).

Based in the UK, our research and manufacturing operation is located on a 25-acre site in East Yorkshire. With a 60,000 square metre trials lake and a floating calibration laboratory, the site provides an extensive range of facilities supporting every aspect of acoustic transducer development from modelling and design to final product acceptance.

We also provide PZT components from our Zeus Piezoceramics facility in Hessle, East Yorkshire.
