The T70 design is a dual stave, ten
element transducer array with five elements per stave.
Each stave has a separate, multi-pin, underwater connector
providing access to the individual elements. This electrical
configuration
combined with the half wavelength element spacing enables
the array to be electronically steered and shaded, achieving
a design with maximum versatility.
Applications include deep water echo sounding, long
range, narrow beam side scan, high performance steered
cylindrical and planar arrays.
When arrays are placed end to end the external dimensions
of the T70 are such that the centre to centre spacing
of the elements within a stave is maintained between
the end elements of adjacent staves.
The T70 is suitable for operation in towed bodies
down to a depth of 750 metres. When used as a towed
sidescan the port and starboard arrays can be operated
with a frequency separation of 2 kHz to reduce cross
channel reverberation interference.
